Power Of Suggestion

The key to hypnosis working, whether through the assistance of a hypnotist or hypnotherapist, or through self-hypnosis, is the power of suggestion. The interesting thing about the power of suggestion is that it has been scientifically proven. Having been demonstrated time after time in every field of human behavior and medicine, we know that the power of suggestion is incredible and it works. In helping people conquer some tough situations, the power of suggestion had been proven effective.

For example, let us say you have been dealing with depression for more than two decades. You tried antidepressants and traditional therapy but without success. At your wits end, you hear about hypnosis and the power of suggestion. Because you have reached the point of exhaustion, your subconscious mind is prepped and ready to accept change. However, for that change to occur, positive suggestions must be given. Once those suggestions are received and believed to be true by the subconscious mind, things begin to change.

The important thing about the power of suggestion is that in addition to being positive and properly formulated, these suggestions must also be tailored specific to your individual needs. Most often, when you work with a licensed professional, they will take time with you to learn your goals so the appropriate induction can be prepared. If you decide to use self-hypnosis, the suggestions you use will charge your subconscious image about yourself. With that, change also comes behavioral change.

With self-hypnosis, the more you work with the tapes you receive, the more comfortable you will become in dealing with all types of situations that you want to change. As an example, if you were battling shyness, as you begin to overcome this problem, you will find yourself more comfortable and confident in situations with other people. With this, you will begin to assert yourself, reclaiming your rights. In other words, you overcome the shyness while also gaining confidence, composure, and self-worth.

Keep in mind that with the power of suggestion does not change the person you are but it brings out the best in the person you are. Typically, with hypnosis, you notice subtle changes, changes in the way in which you handle social situations with more confidence or the way in which you intermingle with other people. Remember, and sometimes, you may need to remind yourself of this – there is nothing wrong you’re your current personality. All you need is to learn how to be more natural with yourself and around other people, which is exactly how hypnosis can help.

With self-hypnosis tools, you will learn invaluable information for overcoming shyness, depression, smoking, excessive weight, or whatever the case may be. You will be walked through the process in easy-to-follow steps to success. Most people that use hypnosis by a professional or self-hypnosis will tell you that they feel better almost immediately, almost as if a heavy burden has been lifted. For fast change, you will learn about imagery and other tools.

The power of suggestion is a form of relaxation that not only walks you through a change but also a quiet time during which you can teach yourself personalized suggestions, as well as image rehearsals. You will be amazed at how much better hypnosis will make you feel. Very quickly, you will discover that you have a much better outlook on your situation as well as life in general, which is why the power of suggestion is so incredible.

Just remember that the power of suggestion must be in a positive tone, never negative. For example, if you were trying to stop smoking, you would not use suggestions such as “Stop smoking because it causes lung cancer” or “Stop smoking because you will breathe better”. Instead, say things like, “Stop smoking so you can enjoy a long, healthy life” or “Stop smoking so you can take long walks in the park or play on the beach”. Can you see the difference? Then, the power of suggestion must be repeated so the subconscious mind can begin to believe what it is hearing.

Once the subconscious mind hears and understands the power of suggestion, it’s like a light goes off and now the information is received. Just remember that a number of things can happen that could slow or stop the effectiveness of suggestions. Therefore, your job is to minimize risk of triggering any of those things, as well as use only positive suggestions. With this, hypnosis can and will be successful.

Invigorate Your Senses With Aromatherapy Candles

Because of the popularity of aromatherapy in the field of relaxation and healing, hundreds of aromatherapy products are now being produced and made available to the market.

But, of all the aromatherapy products available, aromatherapy candles are considered the most popular ones. Aside from being easy to use and cheaper compared to other aromatherapy products; aromatherapy candles appeal to many because they are available in hundreds of scents, sizes, designs, shapes, colors, and textures.

People use aromatherapy candles to turn an ordinary room into a more cozy and inviting place where one can relax and relieve stress. Aside from turning an ordinary setting to an extraordinary ambiance, aromatherapy scented candles are also effective in evoking memories as it transports you to a place where you can find serenity.

Enjoying aromatherapy scented candles

Compared to other aromatherapy products that require accessories, aromatherapy candles are quite simple to use. What you need is a pack of your chosen scent and a match or lighter to unleash powerful and soothing scents that enhances mood, uplifts spirits while relieving tensions.

To enjoy the aromatherapy candle, here are some tips to consider when buying one:

1. Look for the “aromatherapy candle” label. Today, some people mistake aromatherapy candles with scented candles. Although both types are fragrant, they are quiet different in terms of effect. Scented candles only release fragrance to make the room smell nicer while the aromatherapy candle it lit that soothes the senses and lulls you into a relaxed mood.

2. Select the right type of aromatherapy candle for the situation. In buying or using aromatherapy candles, it is very important that you select the right candle for the appropriate situation. It is best to know the purpose of using the candle in order to achieve your desired effect. If you want to invigorate your senses, treat yourself to aromatherapy candles that have a mixture of oils from the mint and citrus families including peppermint, basil, eucalyptus, cedar, rosemary, cinnamon, geranium, and vanilla to easily stimulate and revitalize your senses. If you want to relax, choose aromatherapy candles that contain pure essential oils inspired from chamomile, lavender, and rose that can help you release stress. To breathe life to your creativity, choose aromatherapy candles that aid concentration including citrus essential oils such as lemon, orange, grapefruit, lemongrass, and bergamot. For sensual atmosphere, choose aromatherapy candles that are inspired from ylang ylang, vanilla, neroli, rose, clary sage, and sandalwood.

3. Always buy aromatherapy candles that complement each other. To avoid nausea caused by too many scents and fragrances, avoid burning candles that do not complement each other.

Seeking Inner Peace

Many people today will tell you they seek “inner peace”. But people seem very confused about what this inner peace is. They thus try escapes into all kinds of systems such as chanting, meditating, going on pilgrimages, giving up worldly possessions…but none of it works for most of them. They are still distracted from being in the moment; they cannot fully enjoy the presence of their friends and loved ones; they may be prone to verbally or even physically violent outbursts; they are always feeling stressed out or frantic, with “no time” to relax.

Inner peace really does have to emerge from one’s insides. It cannot be brought in from the outside.

So, what authentic ways are there of being able to realize inner peace?

One of them is to face problems squarely and look fate in the face, here and now. Do not accept “quick fixes” like an uneasy compromise, escape into drunkenness, or telling yourself you’ll sleep on it. Be very pro-active in solving all problems as soon as you know they are there.

Another thing is that you must see things as they are and accept them that way. The only way to solve problems and be at peace with the life around you is to deal with things as they are, not as you wish them to be or think they “should” be. When sages say, “Everything is already perfect like it is,” this is what they mean. They don’t mean that you have no problems, only that escape into delusion cannot solve them. Also keep in mind: you can heal and repair yourself, but you cannot change other people and you cannot heal them unless they want you and invite you to do so.

Take responsibility for your life, including how you interact with and react to other people. Yes, many other people are cruel and ignorant; they hurt you. But as the Buddhist proverb says, “Pain is inevitable; suffering is not.” If another abused you, that may not be your fault; but if you are still suffering and scarred from it so that your life is interfered with 20 years later, that IS your fault.

Learn how to observe your own emotions from someplace “outside” yourself, rather than just being swept away by them. WHY do you react in such and such a way to this or that? WHY do you feel you desire this or hate that? You’ll realize that you can change your emotions about many things, and that you are not your emotions.

If you want inner peace, you’ll never have it unless you resolve to always be honest–and if there are times when people beg you to lie to them (tell a little white lie), at least never, ever lie to your own self.

Understand that “you” are many things at once. You are an ego, you are a Higher Self, you are a bundle of needs and desires, you have memory and awareness and dreams for the future. These things may conflict; it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you if they do at times. Just be sure you take it upon yourself to resolve the conflicts honestly.

Remember that getting angry is easy. But getting angry at the right person or event, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right reason–this is very difficult. Never take the easy way out.

Finally: Just do it! They who hesitate are lost. Seize the day.

Making Hypnosis Work

To understand hypnosis and to make it work, you have to believe that beliefs are what hypnosis is all about. In other words, by believing and using your own imagination, change can occur. The bottom line no matter how you color it, is that hypnosis is a skill, something that can be learned by anyone. The problem and the number one reason hypnosis will not work for some people is that they have yet to unlock their own personal power. These individuals are typically skeptical, fearful, and afraid to believe that they can use hypnosis as a tool for making change.

A person’s belief system is established during childhood years. From the parents, siblings, friends, teachers, environment, and situations, we are all programmed to believe certain things. While some of the things are predisposed, not all are. Because of that, we all have a lot of control over what choices we make and what things we believe. For hypnosis to work, a person has to believe that it will work.

Since hypnosis is a process or technique that takes the mind on a wonderful journey, the person must be open to allowing that to happen. In plain English, if an individual goes to see a hypnotists or hypnotherapist but has strong thoughts that this is phony and will never work, then chances are they are right. However, if the individual believes they have power over themselves and that this technique will better them, then it will.

If you have positive beliefs, thinking and believing loving, good, and nurturing things, then that is the way you will see the world. You are the type of person that believes hypnosis is going to help you through whatever challenge you face. On the other hand, if you have thoughts and beliefs that are negative, such as failure, abandonment, loss, and rejection, then a hypnotist or hypnotherapist probably cannot break those barriers so change can occur.

Keep in mind that if your beliefs are generally negative, then you can modify and change so that hypnosis would help. The way in which you view hypnosis will relate directly to your individual beliefs about life in general. For some reason, many people still think about hypnosis and immediately begin to feel as if they would lose control or reveal intimate secrets. The truth is that true hypnosis is not the televisions shows you have probably seen where people are made to walk around like chickens. That type of hypnosis is merely entertainment and nothing more.

The important thing to remind yourself when it comes to the technique of hypnosis is that this is neither bad nor good, nor is it right or wrong. The problem with hypnosis is that you cannot see, hear, touch, or taste it. Therefore, you must allow the mind they believe that it simply is. Another problem is that the word “hypnosis” comes from the Greed word, “Hypnos”, which means to sleep. Therefore, people think they are going to be placed in a deep trance, thereby having no control. Nothing could be further from the truth.

With hypnosis, you are not sleeping and you will not be made to do stupid things. Instead, hypnosis is a state of concentrated relaxation, something we do hundreds of times each day without even knowing it. For instance, have you ever been sitting at your desk, looking out our window and all of the sudden, you are at the lake fishing, shopping with a friend, or soaking up the sun in Barbados? If so, then you have just experienced the very essence of hypnosis.

With hypnosis, you are not asleep or unconscious. While in this state, you are in a place where your mind can become detached about the things you normally worry about or stress over. This means you also allow a part of the mind to go into the subconscious where it can respond to suggestions, rather than trying to make things happen with the conscious mind.

As you find yourself in this heightened state, the hypnotist or hypnotherapist would offer suggestions, which are called posthypnotic suggestions that are responded to effortlessly. When in this program, your mind absorbs the suggestions and then when in your normal conscious state of mind, the suggestions are carried out. Therefore, to make hypnosis work for you, you have to start by believing it will. With this, by working with a qualified professional, you will have a much better chance to get past the obstacles in your life that have been causing you trouble.

Learning To Feel A Passion

The way to increase your consciousness is to become more aware of how you are truly feeling inside. But, here’s the trick: you have to become more aware of how you feel without becoming controlled by your feelings.

There is a story they tell about a famous Zen master who, when he first began studying Zen, was depressed. While practicing Zen, he became illuminated. You know how he felt after he achieved his Illumination? He was still depressed. So how did Zen benefit him? He related to his depression in an utterly different way!

As a matter of fact, he no longer thought of himself as “being” depressed. He knew that he FELT depressed, but he no longer thought of his feelings as BEING who he was. And that made all the difference for him.

You see, most people run around feeling emotions and emotional complexes that control them; they define themselves as their emotions. They do not recognize that while of course how they feel is real, those feelings are NOT who they are; and what that means for them is that they can and should have much greater control over their lives. Their emotions define who they are.

Think about one of the worst things that people do to themselves. You know what that is? They “pursue happiness”. That’s awful! Now, when the right to “pursue happiness” was written into the U.S. Constitution, yes that word “happiness” had some different connotation than it does today. But did you know that that right was shrouded in controversy? Jefferson wanted it to say “the pursuit of property” instead. He understood that “happiness” is just a mood! It’s just a set of emotions. It cannot define who someone is. It fluctuates as the events of the day fluctuate.

We throw around the word “happiness” as a simile for some other words: joy; bliss; sense of achievement; sense of well-being; love; security; and so on. But are any of those things really the same? No. This is why there are people who seem to suffer and drive themselves crazy to achieve something and people look at them and say, “They are clearly not happy. Why would they do all that stuff when they are so unhappy?” Well, those people aren’t PURSUING happiness! Their consciousness is too elevated for that! Their suffering, while unpleasant, doesn’t disturb them. They are seeking to feel something far greater than the mere lack of suffering for the sake of achievement.

To elevate your consciousness, stop pursuing happiness. That’s like trying to hold water in your hand. Instead, pursue your higher calling. Learn to feel a passion that mere “happiness” can’t touch.
